The old burnt down Brighton pier.
Tim Version:
* All four flights OK, got to England happy and healthy.
* English summer as expected, cold and rainy, and now chilling at Uncle's place.

Looong version (the longer versions are half for my own sake as my memory only holds a few weeks worth of info...)

A cruisy start to the trip over here in Horsham, England. Loving getting to see my Uncle, Aunty and two cousins again as its always a fair chunk of times between visits! Backstepping a little though, back through time to the flight over...

The flight outta Perth to Singapore was good, thanks in part to Alyssa for getting me an awesome seat! No-one in front of me with all the leg room I could ask for! I can't remember if I've flown Qantas before (internationally) as we always tended to go on Cathay Pacific or Royal Brunei and others but Qantas was fine. It wasn't the greatest weather leaving Perth with made it easier. Besides trying to watch a few movies like 10,000 BC and some other unknown action flik which were both pretty terrrible not much went on. (5h 30m roughly)

Coming into Singapore my

flight for the next leg was delayed, which really screwed up connecting flights I had pegged in for after the Singapore/UK hop, and the same I found was happening for a tonne of flights all headed to the UK for some reason. Thankfully I got on the standby list for a flight that ended up leaving earlier than my original flight for the UK but there were a lot of people sitting around in that transfer lounge not looking at all happy. I didn't get much of a look around Singapore airport but got the plug converter thingo that Greg and Deepak were talking about and avoided buying some very shitty looking Burger King so all in all it went alright! The standby flight was with BA (British Airways) so I was stoked as they've always been awesome to fly with. (about 2h there)

Again I've gotta thank Alyssa for the sick seat I would have had on the Singapore - England leg, but since I never got that flight I didn't get to use it.. instead I got 29A =) Best seat in the house! No emergency door in front of me but no seat either, so again

Bloody brilliant to see! It was about 15*, really windy, light rain with waves that were rolling and not breaking (meaning you can't really ride them) but this guy was still out having a surf! Seeing him and others surfing down there made my day!
tonnes of room to spread out! The guy next to me was a real prick, scowling at the cabin crew with short stumpy angry "yes" "no" answers to their polite questions but he slept most of the flight so all good. Got through a few more decent movies on that leg including an art-house skating based story that filled my need to watch some sort of surf/skate movie at least once a day and slept for a couple of hours while enjoying a few drinks so it was a sick flight. (about 12h 30m) Oh yeh... the beer rundown:

Perth - Singapore: James Squire Golden Ale! So good. A few of those disappeared.
Singapore - London: Carlsberg/Heineken, not so good, but they had a real nice Aussie Cab Shiraz so that did the trick.

The last two flights were just hour long bus runs pretty much, very uneventful and I would of been happy to skip.

Now I'm in the Horsham, England just relaxing. We've been down to Brighton twice so far where its been cold and windy but the place is still nice to go to. We also checked out "Devils Dyke", a hill with an

apparently awesome view of both London and the ocean, but it was so foggy that we couldn't see bugger all so will have to try that one again. We did however stop at the pub for a pint of something I can't remember the name of (It had the same looking tap and spelling as Stella so I thought it had to be good) and it tasted really bloody good so that was my day made!

I don't think anything too interesting will be written or shown here until the 31st of August when i hit beautiful Portugal.

A point in NW WA, can't see much from the photo but it was a beautiful unspoilt piece of coast that we got to see between the fairly solid cloud cover. The land disappeared and it was just water a minute after this shot...
