She's Off!

Well I'm off! In 32 hours I will be in Africa, living out a lifelong dream. I know... 32 hours of travel... groan... this is going to break my record for transit time.

The plan is to Fly into Cape Town via Frankfurt, spend a couple of days in CT and then spend 2 weeks traveling through South Africa - still deciding where to go and what to see. At the end of Aug I leave on my Safari from Johannesburg. The Safari takes me to Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi, Mozambique and then back into South Africa to see Kruger park. I then fly to Perth to meet up with Beth and spend 2 weeks driving down west coast of Australia with her. After Beth leaves I fly off to Bangkok - so far my plan is to go to Angkor Wat in Cambodia and then spend two weeks in the south of Thailand diving and swimming. The next stop is Hong Kong for 2 nights and then off to San Francisco to meet up with my mom and enjoy some mother/daughter bonding time.

That's the plan so far, but if I've learned anything with all my travels... things change!

My plan is to post to this blog as often as possible (with pictures) but given that I will be in very remote areas while in Africa it might take a while for updates.
