Finally, a bit of luxury! With the van parked up for 4 days we took a boat to Daydream Island, one of the Whitsunday Islands. Everyone we know who has been, says how beautiful they are, and they were right! Absolutely gorgeous! Obviously, staying in a hotel meant no cooking and massive brekkies aswell - double bonus! So we spent a few days chilling by the pool and looking in rock pools (which Bella loves, but scares me to death)
We also did a trip to Hamilton Island, where lots of very rich people live (we didn't hang around for long!) and on to Whitehaven Beach where wespent the afternoon on a postcard looking beach and sea - the kids thought it was great.
Bella didn't want to leave because she 'just loved it' and I didn't because 'we had our own bathroom' ! And although we had a great time it was expensive (they charged us £6 to cook some of our pasta and put some pesto on it!) therefore serious cutbacks will have to be made.

Oz is generally expensive, even for basic stuff like bread, milk, nappies etc (I paid nearly £2 for a small Dairy Milk bar) On the plus side, all my fave ozzy wines are about £3, but 6 small bottles of beer are about £7 - so obviously they will be the first thing to go!

We have not been that impressed with the shopping so far, I am definately missing my Tesco Extra! I guess I thought it would be more like home, but it feels about 20yrs behind!

Anyway, we are heading further south with some long drives ahead and no sight seeing stop overs. We are aiming for Hervey Bay to do some whale watching, which we are really excited about, so fingers x'd that we see some!

Missing you all loads, sorry I'm not ringing more but finding it tricky with the time difference, but thinking of you all the time.

*Congratulations to Letitia, Kit and Isabella on the birth of Matilda - hope all is well.

*Happy birthday to Helena and Isabella - hope you had a lovely day.

*Hope the Hulses have a great time at the Transplant Games and have a fantastic holiday

*Claire, Adam and kids have a super duper holiday and I hope Lily doesn't poo in the pool!

Do they not have gyms in Oz Steve? Your six pack is looking more like a barrel.
