The whole family in Santorini
Santorini, Greece is so beautiful! One of the stops on the cruise I was sooo happy to get out of Cairo! Yay! For all of you thinking of traveling to Egypt--2 days in Cairo is more than enough. 6 is overkill.
I met the rest of my family in Venice to begin our family vacation! Woohoo!
We stayed in a hotel that was on an island in Venice. For those of you who have not been to Venice, you may not realize that this is redundant because Venice is made up of a bunch of islands! Apparently I did not pay attention in social studies class that closely--or to movies. I thought that there might be a little stream that ran through Venice where all the gondoliers frequented--alas NO! It's all islands. Hmm.
My mom bought a $12 coke light -- not the cheapest hotel!
The cruise itself was incredible! SO luxurious. Plus I did not really get seasick (just sort of & no puking so that was great!).
We relaxed, explored the islands & small towns, did watersports (wave runner, banana boat & waterskiing), hung out by the pool, ate lots of good food & played cards. What an awesome vacation! Plus both Carter & Brenden were such great & cute kids
The family in Venice
we're standing on one of Venice's many bridges over it's many canals that the whole cruise wanted to take pics--we were very popular!
It was both good & bad to get off the cruise--my seams appreciated being done with the cruise--they could use a break!
We also celebrated my parents 34th wedding anniversary their last night in Greece & thanks to Matt went to a beautiful restaurant with amazing night views of the Acropolis. Not a bad way to spend an anniversary =)
So now I am writing from a youth hostel in Athens and I leave in a couple hours for Kenya. Safari time!
For some reason the pics aren't uploading so...I hope to upload them soon!

About time.......
I mean, it's about time we had some new updates. Most of us are working here, and would like to live vicariously through your 'vacation' exploits. The least you can do with all that time off is throw us a bone. Heehee. Sounds awesome!! And thanks for the geography lessons. Keep up the fun updates. Yay Amy!!
