Best Darn 119 Days... I ever read about, Amy. It'd be downright trite for me to say you had the penultimate Incredible Journey, did things that many of us would like to do, met some unforgettable characters, and throughout it all, kept us largely homebodies highly informed/entertained. So, I won't belabour that set of closing comments. Rather, a huge mahalo-plenty for sharing your adventures, and very best wishes as you re-adjust to life in the lower 48. Thanks for your new coordinates too...never know, you might just see some ol' kama'aina in Carlsbad one day. A hui hou, Jerry
fish gas bladder that's fish gas bladders, which let them control their buoyancy.
the fish mongers leaves them on display to show how fresh the fishes are, how the bladders are still full of air. that's how we roll in HKG! love your blog!
Dim Sum I am glad that you had a great dim sum lunch. Dim sum was always my favorite restaurants when I would visit China! Sounds like an amazing trip, I can't wait to hear more!
Hi there, travellin' Amy! I just happened to chance upon your blog - I was taken in by the small bag you took on your round the world trip! I am looking to do a similar trip in about a year, you have given me a lot of inspiration and tips. Please keep enjoying your trip!!

You have made the countries you have visited come alive. I never thought I wanted to visit Veitnam but now I will have to put it on the wish list. So glad your tour was fun. Keep writing, I'm lovin it.
Elephant Rider You Are! Reading your entries and seeing your photos brings a huge smile to my face - you're doing it! And riding an elephant no less!! Thailand looks beautiful and can't wait to visit it sooner or later. Keep up your traveling spirit and enjoy the human interaction with the group tour! :)
Breast Exam ALL massages I got in India included a full breast rub-down, a vigorous ass rub and sometimes an inner thigh work-out. It seems to be the norm, but it's probably good to catch any extra lumps :-)
sweet! You had me at "I got some action!"
Hehe, anywayz it's great reading all your travel stories. I'm off to some random ranch in Northern California next week. Isn't it cool that one year ago you decided to go world traveling. Seems like just yesterday.
Anywayz, don't forget to practice your Thai karaoke there so you can perform for us next time you're in Hawaii.
Good health! At least you're keeping up with your good health - exams and all! ;) Great to hear you're in Thailand now - and loving this vicarious traveling too :D Thanks for all these great photos and stories! Big hugs Amy!
aloha aloha amy,

many blessings to you and safe travels.

Erotica The "erotic carvings" at Kajuraho are AMAZING! Don't hate the French dude for being obsessed - they were one of the best things we saw in India.
Nachos Con Todos... You've always been more of an appetizer kind a girl anyways...we miss you back here too. I say find a beach in Southern Thailand (Ko Pi Pi) and just chill with the locals (or your air con and movie channels)!!!!!
Hey Amy...glad to hear you are having fun and enjoying yourself. I love your pictures they are soo beautiful! Well please call me when you get back. Have fun!
You came, you saw, you left Amy, good for you for knowing what you need and want out of this trip. Life lesson learned...be flexiable!! Love the blog, love the pictures and love you. Can't wait for the next entry.
Molli loves the pix Giraffes are here favorite!!! Looks like your having an incredible time over there. Could you work on the oil prices a bit in your spare time?
Hi Amy! I have so enjoyed your travel journal! My kind of traveling. . .appetizers only, skip the entrees,:) much more fun to keep moving! Thanks for sharing!Take care!
Good For You, Amy... for all that you're sharing with us "back home" and in this update, for following your gut instinct and abbreviating your stay. The blog entries make one feel one is right there with you, being stared at perhaps, or hunkered down in the not-first-class rail coach, or curiously checking out very unfamiliar phenomena. Pictures are totally awesome too. Really, what memories you are making for a lifetime...and the trip is far from over. Mahalo plenty!
you just watched the trailer Dear Amy
Thank you very much for visiting our country.I hope u liked it.But i must say that your visit to india is almost like collecting a FEW SANDS from all the beaches of this world.......
Mark Twain, American author:
"India is, the cradle of the human race, the birthplace of human speech, the mother of history, the grandmother of legend, and the great grand mother of tradition. our most valuable and most instructive materials in the history of man are treasured up in India only."
Hope you visit it again in future.....
stay safe.
peace.
Photos on train Next time, go ahead and click. People in India don't take offense as they would in the West. In fact, they would probably have been amused that you were taking photographs of them. This is probably applicable anywhere in rural Asia.
Kenya Amy,
I'm loving the blog and photos --- update more often!!! I know how bad the internet is in that part of the world, but we have fun living vicariously! Your safari pics look amazing.
Did you stay with Dan and Edwina?!?!??! I can't wait to hear about it in more detail.
So, here is my trick with the touts... you have to think that bothering/trailing you to sell you shit is their job. It's your job to pretend they are invisible. The minute you acknowledge their existence they get even more persistent.
Dan likes to hit them with his backpack. And I hate to tell you, but there are just as many aggressive touts in India. But, you'll still have a blast!
