Guten Tag!
I have moved into my dorm in Vienna and I'm relieved to finally have all my stuff out of my bag and (more or less) put away. I'm going to finish this post later, because I see its getting a bit late and I want to make sure I have time to get my groceries. I do want to share a funny story. My flight today was on Austrian Airlines, which is my first experience with a non-English speaking airline. Once lunchtime rolled around, they handed me a tray with something covered in foil. It turned out to be some kind of spinach cannelloni, which felt kind of fancy for an airline lunch. Also on the tray was a dish of a mystery substance. It was kind of a peachy color, and with a sauce-y consistency. I tried a bit of it, and it was also a mystery flavor. The stewardess handed me a roll (from a large basket of warm rolls) and so I tested my mystery substance as a bread dip, but that didn't seem to be what it was for. The lady next to me was pouring it on the cannelloni, so I tried that too. It didn't seem to make any difference to the flavor, so I wasn't sure that was right either. I decided the mystery substance must be some sort of desserty thing on its own, so I put some sugar in it and ate it with a spoon. But I give both myself and my seat neighbor props for being creative while we attempted to figure out what the dish was for. On a sad note, I left my bag of London souvineers on the plane. I talked with the lost and found and they told me to call them later. So I'm assuming those will not be returned. This worry was quickly eclipsed by the fact that my bag never showed up on the carousel. After a lot of panicking, (and telling fate to take the souvineers, but not my bag!) my bag mysteriously showed up in a random corner of the area we were in... honestly I don't know how or when it got there. I found three other students at various airport stops, and we all split the fare to get to our place in a cab-van. More later...
