Rumble in the Jungle

Hi everyone,
Ahhhhhhhh....it's Saturday. It's been a long and very busy week at work. Today I plan on doing nothing more than buying some fruit, maybe scouting the stalls near the mosque for something I can use as Christmas decorations and possibly a nap. The sky is a shade of white/gray - not common for early morning, so I don't feel bad about not running off to the beach.

We had an earthquake last night and I actually felt it! We've had a good handful since I arrived last month, but I haven't felt them...mainly because NYC is a great place to desensitize you to shaky ground (subway/heavy traffic) and noise (car alarms/clubs). But this quake gently rumbled and shook me in my bed for about 15-20 seconds...I was too lazy to get up and go outside like we've been told to do. Besides, it seems just wrong, not to mention difficult, to get up and try to walk while the earth is shifting. So, after a minute, I went back to sleep again.

Some recent things I've been thinking/reading about: origins of the study of sociology (is there actually a topic that covers most of the things i'm interested in?); apocalypse now (deeply profound or overrated?) and how long exactly is "four score and seven years ago"?

Four Score
A Score is 20 years so four score would be 80 plus 7 would be 87 years. Hope you are having fun and staying cool!
