It would seem that I spoke prematurely about our "solution" to the rodent issue. We got our rations raided twice more and that was more than I could handle. I did resort to cursing loudly and repeatedly but that, seemingly, did nothing. I staked out the car as well, and the little buggers (field mice) were running in and out of the car (via passages in the undercarriage) at will. I tried to poison them with bleach soaked oatmeal--which they devoured and then returned unharmed to ransack other various goodies.

Thus ended our time at Vedauwoo. Our climbing ended on a rather low note as well due to the fact that the guidebook showed the 3 pitch 5.4 (easy) starting from a location that was perilous to say the least. It started on the top of a 40 foot chimney which required some 5.9 moves to get to in the first place...protecting the crack from the top of the chimney was delicate business and all told we weren't up to it so we took our gnawed up bags of stale potato chips on down the road and over-nighted in the fine city of Lander WY.

This town has a nice park which they open up for free camping with a 3 consecutive night stay limit. I was very surprised and pleased with this discovery. We are in striking distance from three nice climbing areas: Wild Iris, Sinks Canyon and the Wind River Range. We will camp at Wild Iris for a night or two then head out in search of bigger game in the Winds...Pictures, slander and nonsense will follow as the situation unfolds...
