A sunny morning! Apparently Russell Crowe has a penthouse here mmm
Its been a rainy couple of days and my pac'a'mac has come in very handy. The mornings have been dry and so I have headed off with an adventurous spirit into town only to be rained on. So when the weathers turned wet I have turned to the art galleries. There is a huge art event on at the moment, the Biennial of Sydney 08 and there are fantastic exhibitions all over the city including the main galleries. Yesterday I spent most of the afternoon in an installation lying on a hammock listening to Jimmie Hendrix (this kind of participation is encouraged, dont worry!) In the same gallery, the Museum of Contemporary Art, there were some amazing Aboriginal bark paintings and films. At the Art Gallery of New South Wales (where I will be working) there is an artwork by Yoko Ono. Its an old style telephone which is working and linked up to Yoko Ono, at various times during the biennial she will ring the phone and visitors are encouraged to answer it, ive been hanging around in an attempt to speak to Yoko but no luck so far!

Anyway enough about art, I have been reminded of home

Look what I found!
at every turn, which is comforting if not a little bizarre. I have so far come across York Street and Essex Street, and yes I am proud to stand up and say, my name is Jessica Crann and I take photos of street signs. By far the best one I found is the next street along to where I am staying - CHELMSFORD AVENUE, well that photo had to be taken!! I am now currently on the lookout for South Woodham Ferrers!! Not sure about finding that one though!
