We're at the end of our trip! We can't believe that 10 weeks have passed since we left Oz, and that our final leg of the trip in Thailand is ending.

We sadly left Samui on Friday for Bangkok after a totally chilled time there. We'll greatly miss the safe haven of Shambala with the owners', Jess & Julz, friendly welcome (and appreciate their tolerance of us turning our bungalow into a cats' home!), Pom & Pun's lovely cooking, and Em's endless smiles and kind heart.

We'll miss the calming sound of the sea on our doorstep and the revitalizing sea breeze blowing across our balcony. And we'll miss the 4 kittens and mum who 'stayed' with us at Shambala for the last few weeks, all demanding breakfast at 7 in the morning and a free run of the bungalow for developing climbing and fighting skills.

Here in Bangkok, we've been staying at Rambuttri Village Inn, near the infamous Khao San Road. The vibe around here has been a wake-up call to us after our kick-back on Samui; whatever you want to buy, eat, do - it's here in Bangkok City. The 'Suit Men' (tailors on every street) are intensely persistent and it's tempting to walk around with a big sign saying, 'I don't want a suit' (or words to that effect). However, this is THE place to get suited up if that's your thing.

We had to try a tuk tuk ride, and after serious negotiations on a price and an agreement not to take us to any jewelry shops on the way, we went by tuk tuk to Wat Po to see the Reclining Buddha. On our arrival another tuk tuk driver 'informed' us that the temple was closed for prayer and insisted we go to the 'Lucky Buddha' with him instead. Wise to their ploys, we declined his forceful offer of a ride in his tuk tuk; we found the temple open as anticipated and joined the hoards of tourists for a circular walk around the huge reclining buddha statue.

And thankfully we realised in good time that we're to fly out of Bangkok on Monday morning early hours, not Tuesday morning as we'd thought! It was when trying to work out how we'd gain 26 hours flying back to the UK (when the time difference is 6 hours) that we realised we leave a day earlier than thought, landing at Heathrow early Monday morning UK time. Doh!

So, we leave for London tonight. At least it's summer in the UK... but it's nowhere near 30 degrees, so we're preparing to put on the thermals and layers! Brrrr, Blighty here we come... :-O :-O
