I finally realised why I didn't overplan my trip. Because lets face it my mind is as changeable as the Irish weather!

So I left my accomodation the other morning enroute to buy my train tickets north to Chang Mai' 700km away and I came back with tickets to Krabi. 800km south! Now lets face it' I don't think that Intrepid Travel would let me have done that :-)
Mind you it is an epic 16 hour journey so it better be worth it! I leave at 11pm tomorrow night so hopefully I will get some sleep along the way.
Krabi is along the west coast of Thailand about half way down from Bangkok on the way to Malaysia. I am quite looking forward to heading to the coast for a little bit. And from there I think it will be easy enough to hop north along the andaman coast for another few days. Just means heading true north a week later or so. I also met up with some other people during my stay at the river Kwai that I hope to meet up with at some stage up north or in Laos/ Cambodia as they are planning on doing a similar route to mine also.

Will update blog asap but internet is scarce (and expensive) in the countryside so I am not sure when.

Till then...in the words of someone we all know around Lattin...."Keep it country"!
