Hi all!
Yes! we've safely arrived in Chile, although at one point we thought we wouldnt get in, thanks to an uptight immigration officer who scrutinized Ann Marie's passport...
However, after he reluctantly stamped our passports we finally arrived in the buzzing Bellavista area, and to the ultra cool Bellavista hostel - where everyone is really friendly!
Friday night, our first night, we met a group of fellow travellers from Australia, Scandinavia, Canada, Holland and New Zealand, and about 1am - parties dont get started till this time - we all headed to Havana Salsa nightclub, where we've discovered our love for the VERY POTENT Chilean drink, Pisco Sour! They had a cool salsa band playing on a friday night but as the night wore on the music changed and thanks to the Pisco we found ourselves dancing to YMCA!!!... Woooooooooooo GREAT!
Santiago is a very interesting city, from the hundreds of stray dogs and sleazy men on the sidewalks - girls dont get too excited - to the magnificent view of the Andes and the beautiful Cerro San Cristobal and Santa Lucia!
We've only been here six days and have met loads of people all travelling South
America and already getting us itching to visit more places! Anyway, we have to prepare to move on to Buenos Aires and perhaps Mendoza... so Ciao for now! x
