Blakes laying down beside me. Fast asleep
20th July

Well Mum we went to Faversham today its where we had that beautiful pie and new potatoes. On the way we stopped at a Farmers Market. Over here they 're like a supermarket in a barn with local produce. Then we went to a Fruit Festival. We only went to the entrance where we bought cherries and ate them straight away. It was going to cost 40 pounds to get in and see it though. So we didn't go.

I had planned a walk around Faversham - the canels and the sights. However, it started off bad when both Blake and Anton said they had a headache. Blake said he'd got hit by the soccer ball it had fallen on his head and it had hurt. So off we go on this 7 k walk. Things were looking good - then what I was seeing and what was on the map were different. By which time Anton was dragging his feet and Blake was on Gareth's back. Things didn't get better when we walked right through the middle of a farm - Ham Farm. Then I saw signs to Shipwrecked Pub which was on the walk -

Luckily the pub owner had a sense of humour. Ex English Teacher.
but not in the direction we were going.

Got to the Pub following the road signs and back onto our map. Now Anton was nearly in tears and Blake was a white as a sheet. Walked in - neither Gareth nor I had cash. Would you believe their phone lines were down and they couldn't take visa cards. Oh no ........ no lunch and we'd have to walk back into town.

The pub owner then came over and started to chat - he said that the kids look like weeds and needed a bit of feeding up. He said he'd use the old vip vap and argue with the banks later. At which point Blake threw up on the lawn. The weather started to turn and it got cold. The owner found us a seat inside where Blake could lay down and go to sleep.

We ordered our meals and ate it reservedly. We knew that we had to get the kids back into town where the van was parked. But we didn't want to mention this to the kids. Blake was asleep on the seat and Anton slowly made his way through mac cheese. Mason downed his chips and nuggets.

Back outside and it was decided that Gareth and Mason would run back into town and bring the van back. Out comes the pub owner - not busy I'll give you a lift. What a lovely man. Then Blake threw up more cherries in the front of the pub and Anton rushed off to the toilet to give up his mac cheese.

20 minutes later we were back in the van heading for home. The day didn't turn out like we had planned. Both boys are now in bed with panadol in them.

So mum we saw that pub you, dad, gareth and I had dinner in that time. It's called the Albion - we walked straight past it. If only we had gone there for lunch, it was only 5 minutes from the van not 1/2 hour. Next time the boys say they have headaches we might stay home and watch Tour de France instead. Probably alot safer.

On a brighter note we have made raspberry jam and picked blackberries out the back of Meera's and made them into jam as well. Staying at Meeras tomorrow to clean and pack the van and then off to Sally's via a cricket shop.

Mason says Hi - he's been bus drawing pictures in his diary. Oh I told Anton and Blake they could have a day off school tomorrow and that they could watch TV while Mason does his reading, writing and math.
