Edit Blog Post

Just thought I would write a little entry while I am at the internet cafe waiting for Ian to upload photos. It's only been a few days since I wrote one so it will only be a short one.

After leaving Siam Reap we moved onto the Capital Phnom Penh. Here we visted the usual museums about the history of Cambodia, old prison place (S-21) and the Killing Fields. All of which were really interesting. We also watched a movie about the history of Cambodia, a movie about a Swiss doctor who is saving all the children in Cambodia whilst playing his cello (Dr Beat Richner AKA Beatocello. It was really good, although you have to take it with a pich of salt as it is one sided and I don't know the other side of the story that well. He is helping sick kids though so can't be faulted) and we went to a theatre to watch some traditional drum beating and dancing. All in all we have become very cultured in Cambodia and we should be experts on their history although it is still pretty confusing for us both.

We left Phnom Penh after a couple of days (must say it was much better then I thought it would be, although we didn't walk anywhere as we got Tuk Tuk everywhere and am pretty sure we only went to the touristy stuff so I can't say I've seen the 'real' place) and have arrived in the beach at the south of Cambodia. It's pretty nice here, although you do get harrassed every 30 seconds to buy things and by beggers. I understand why but it is pretty annoying so am hoping to leave the main resort for one of the islands which should be quiter in the next day or so. Then we are off to Vietnam.

Hope all is well at home.

Alex: I tried to get Ian to write this blog but he said he was too busy uploading the photos (which haven't worked!). Sorry x

Karen: We have had some random comments from anonymous people on our blog. Not as rude as I remember you saying yours were they just called me a moaner (which is true in all fairness!!) and something about ladyboys being really attractive as I had said I hadn't seen any People are so sad. I mean who has the time and can be bothered to read and then comment on random peoples blogs?!! I feel sorry for them!!! (Will probably get more comments from people about this statement but it is true!).

Yes its crazy isn't it - fair enough maybe you'd read a strangers blog if you were travelling to a country and wanted to find out about it, but why on earth would you just do it in your spare time and pass judgements on what others are chatting to there mates about! Seriously, get your own mates, talk to them! Anyway, all sounds good - i didn't go to the beach in cambodia (Sihanoukville?) but saw all the same upsetting tourist attractions as you did in Phonm Penh. I'll warn you though, if you don't like people bugging you and begging at you (and really, who does?!), North Vietnam might be a struggle... Chat to you later moaner :o) x
