SwissAlps
The beautful view as I eat lunch in Wengen! This morning I woke up to the smell of pine trees, the birds chirping and the most stunning views of the snow-capped Swiss Alps.
Today I'm in Wengen in south-west Switzerland. Most people on my tour have gone up 4000m to Jungfrau mountain but as it is -5° up there and I haven't brought a jacket with me on this trip, I decided to stay in the much more inviting 17° township. I have booked a 1hr masage at a beautiful wellness clinic here followed by an afternoon of sitting in the spas looking out the 360° views of the mountains. I can't wait!
Yesterday we left the amazing Paris and it took 9hrs drive to get here eek! Paris was fabulous!! Spending only 1.5days there was not enough...the first night we arrived we did a 'city lights' tour past all the sights including the Louvre, the Champs de Elysee, Notre Dam , Place de Concorde and finally the famous Eiffel Tower. It as 10pm by the time we got to it but it seemed like 6pm Brisbane time - a beautiful dusk light bathed the tower, and it was also lit up with blue lights and 12 gold
SantaCroce
The view of Paris from the hill which houses Santa Croce Church. stars to commemorate the French PM being elected as the President of the EU for the next 6 months. Very very beautful and much more breathtaking in person!!
I spent the next day, our free day, shopping ALL DAY in Paris in true Alyse-style 😊 I had lots of yummy pastries for brekky followed by a half hour train ride out to Disneyland, where there was an outlet village close-by. I was expecting something like Harbourtown but in true Paris style, it was much more classy and beautiful. My only purchase was a pair of Dolce & Gabbana black and gold high heels on sale from €400 down to €99 (about $680 down to $160) - a very appropriate & memorable purchase from Paris!
That afternoon I strolled down the Champs de Elysee with all of the high end stores including the flagship 4-level Louis Vuitton store. It was breathtaking!! Everything in the heart of Paris oozes class and style...the cafes, the gorgeous shop fronts, the terrace houses with flower bloom baskets...there are so many grand statues and fountains, buildings and bridges. It truly is the most romantic city I have ever visited, and probably ever will.
EiffelTower
After a long day of shopping, here I am walking to my Champagne Picnic under the famous tower. Speaking of romance, when night came around it was time for our Champagne Picnic dinner in the Champs de Mars park under the Eiffel Tower. With our whole group there, it was a great time to relax and take in the magnificence of the city. After dinner it was off to a cabaret show! With the Moulin Rouge being quite expensive, we went to Paradis Latin instead - very entertaining and seeing the CanCan up close made you appreciate just what excellent dancers those girls are!
Tomorrow we leave for Nice on the south border of France and to Monaco at night to visit the popular Monte Carlo casino - I can't wait to bet on the Roulette wheel and sip on a few cocktails!!
Until next time, hope all is well back home - thinking of everyone and wishing you were all here!! Lots of love, Alyse-Grace xx
