Casa Rosada y Congreso

3/7/2008 Today I literally woke up before dawn like 4-5am and got ready to go on my own to discover the famous Casa Rosada(Pink house in Spanish, think Argentina version of White House), Congreso and 5 de Mayo and other parts of the town.

I decided to be really adventurous and took a sub down to the “Catedral” and just walk all the way back! As it turns out trying to be superman and not navigating properly with a map made me lose time by walking around in circles. However, it did allow me to discover the city in a different way and I ended up taking photos of a lot of building I liked instead of what was recommended in a travel guide.

After finally walking for (no joke) 5-6 hours and really doing an Argentinian version of city to surf (without the running). I finally reached shopping central… Ave Santa Fe, where I stopped and got me a jacket from a cool urban store. I finally came home at around 12ish just in time to grab some or in this case any food that was left and quickly headed out to my Uni, as I didn’t want to be late, as attendance does count!

Man, I must tell you I have to think twice before doing something so upbeat without coffee or food next time, as for the first hour in class all I wanted to do was just sleep…


4/7/2008Today was the 4th of July and you know what that means for all the Estados Unidos People(Americans). It was party time, uhhmmm yeah so as we were all making our way back from Uni, we meet a couple of American people who invited us to party with them later on…..One of them, from Orange County (yes THE O.C) came over for some pre-drinks which was pretty cool….

Very interesting.
Like your blog. Interesting to read. By the way, the building labeled "Economia" actually is the Palacio de Justicia. Supreme Court and many others inferior judges work there. Economia is beside the Pink House, in the opposite street of the Cathedral.
