This blog is coming to you from the private library in the British Museum. The group has seperated to explore the galleries at each person's own pace, and Eleni found herself in front of a computer with the Museum's database. After some nifty linking (there was no place to type a url), she was able to locate the travelblog website and has thus found a way to use FREE INTERNET! Needless to say, she is excited and cannot wait to tell the rest of the group. We may be here for a while.
So far today, we got up early to be the first ones in line for the Tower of London. After receiving our tickets, we rushed to the Crown Jewels and got a nearly private tour.
Parker stopped for a mid-morning snack at the Tower's cafe and Sam and Eleni freaked out with excitment over the scaffold which held Anne Boleyn's neck as she was executed. The girls strongly suggest that everyone reads The Other Boleyn Girl as soon as possible.
After the Tower, we headed straight to Westminster Abbey and discussed the possibility of pretending we were there to worship in order to escape the steep entrance price of nine pounds. Sadly, we realized that Parker probably could not pull off the devout Christian while wearing a full, traditional Japanese outfit. Maybe next time.
The Abbey was beautiful and we gawked over old tombs, memorials, and Darwin's grave. But by 1:30, we were all ready to drop dead of hunger. After spending a significant amount of time sitting in a small to-go food store, we stopped by the Big Ben to watch the British government in action. Unfortunatley, the queue was an hour and a half, so we passed it up.
The now seperated group is going to meet back up at 4:30, though once they hear about the free internet, I'm sure we will be back. Time to go explore the Elgin Marbles (*cough* which were stolen from Greece *cough*).

Cheers.
