It is Sunday today. I think I am going to rest a bit and keep the pace slow. I am still feeling poorly but seem to be keeping the sinus and eye infection at bay if I am not over-exerting myself.

After a an early-morning shower and breakfast, I headed off to the museum, which is only a few blocks from here. It was closed last year when Cristelle and I was here, so I am really interested to see what the new changes have brought.

It is a nice museum and and the make-over has served it very well (I had been here previously in 2005). I spent about 2.5 hours there before heading back to the Sports Club.

I have been trying to arrange a few things. First, Kenya Kondo from the Heritage Days venue has asked me to bring a banner back for them. So I have been trying to make contact with the supplier here, but to no avail.

Also, I had intended to call Sadie (Lew and Lili's daughter) but I realize that I did not include here number n my papers. I expect to meet her at the Kawangware school Monday morning anyway, but I would have liked to have called her first.

In the afternoon, I met with John Amendi again. Out of our conversation came a few points worth considering in terms of expanding the presence of One Child's Village in cooperation with their organisation. I will speak to the board about that upon my return. He also recommended that we register our schools with the Ministry of Education. He said that there is a very good chance that if we do that then the government will pay for the wages of the teachers at both schools. He thought the Bumala school would particularly be elegible for this. Apparently, once we are registered with the Ministry of Education, then we can approach the "TSE" who is responsible for funding the teachers salaries. This was important news to me and I am going to bring this up with Charles today. It may enable us to acquire and pay good teachers who can take us up to class 8.

At the end of the day, I booked an appointment for Monday night for a sauna and a 1-hour massage, in hopes of breaking some of this fever. It is 600 Ksh for this ($10). As a massage therapist, you can imagine that I will be very interested in what they are offering in terms of a 1-hour massage for $10. On the other hand, anything at this point would be wonderful to help with the way I am feeling....

I will be meeting Charles tomorrow morning to go to the Kawangware school. A big day of activity is planned!
