Burgos was a shock to the system. We were caught off guard. Not off guard in the sense that we didn't know we were about to go through the biggest city of the Camino so far but off guard because we were so unprepared to enter back into the chaos of an urban jungle. Having walked from hamlets-to-villages and villages-to-small towns the past few weeks with the daily mission to arrive at our destination and then find food and a place to sleep life becomes simple, relaxing and rewarding. The momentum of a city in full flow did not fit with our adopted rhythm. We've now left Burgos and after a day moving further down the path our minds have settled and we have eased back into our calm existence. An hour ago we arrived in Hornillos a village much more to our measure. However, a slight challenge has emerged. The small Refugio appears to be unable to cope with tonights demand so we may be finding an impromptu camping spot nearby. Our potential host for this evening is due back imminently from his Sunday afternoon siesta so we wait for his advice.
