My Hostel in Munich

The big red M on truck parked out front stands for Meininger Hostel. Good people.

After three days of groggy afternoons asleep and sunrises wide awake I have started to get on a somewhat normal schedule. I took my first walking tour of the city which was interesting. It was led by a chipper New Zealander named Sean who I got along with nicely. When I told him I was in Europe indefinitely he said I reminded him of himself a few years back, and he put the idea in my head of eventually being a tour guide. It would take some work and it is an interesting way to live, but I could envision myself doing that for a while. Before I went on the walking tour I had my first bought of loneliness set in, but fortunately it faded as I walked the streets of the capital of Bavaria. I certainly expected this feeling eventually, but it was earlier in my adventure than I expected. A good tour, an email home and a blog update and I feel connected and complacent, and have begun to turn my sights on Vienna and the Euro cup. It will be great to be in the city where the match is, but with Germany advancing past Portugal, I am almost tempted to stay in Munich for Germany's match against Turkey. If they won I think it might be more exciting being in Germany. Vienna will be exciting regardless, and I think I am ready to see a new city with all it has to offer. I go now for a delicious bratwurst sandwich, or perhaps a kebab as the sun sets on another day for me in Europe.

Nice map
Hi Honey, Love the map of the hostel with the M-bus :-) and the map of where you are! I hope you'll be able to upload pictures as you go. We're trying to keep up with the Euro Cup games. Love you lots! Mom and Dad
