Florence to Venice

Florence to Venice
Camping Fusina
After a quick trip into Florence we are on our way to Venice. The drive to Venice was easy!! Camping Fusina has camping spots overlooking the lights of
Venice. This campground has a ferry just across the street, so we walk to the ferry and into Venice. Venice was created on a series of mud banks in a lagoon with canals in place of roads. Venice originally a province of the Byzantine Empire and through its control of the spice and silk trade from the East became the richest nation in Europe.
Arriving in Venice we tried to find our way around, which is no small accomplishment. Since the town has never known automobiles, it really is a city out of the past. There are many things to see, but just wandering the streets and shops is fun. Of course, count on getting lost! We stopped at St. Mark's Basilica, but it is closed.
It is already evening and many places are closed or closing. We found a nice cafe and had an Anniversary Dinner of pasta and watched the Gondolas go by. Each day is busy, time to return "home" via the ferry.

A three wheel car, one person in front, one in back...maybe, all electric!

Not the best design
For stability with three wheels, the center of mass needs to be moved towards the dual wheel axle. Otherwise, it tips over on turns. Duh!
