Today I went to the western hills, just west of Xi'an suprisingly. The views were incredible,we climbed to the top sat on a chair lift and walked back down visiting the various toaist temples and Bagoda's along the way. It was very nice to be out of the city for a change in a calm and peaceful setting.

Sadly Helen couldn't make it as she has caught a stomach bug, I imagine this will be the first of many for us both on this long adventure. She is getting better and has been eating today. I'm sure she'll be back climbing hills and temple stairs by tomorrow. Everyone with us has been very kind and offered medicine and advice, we have a really nice group with a good mix of young and old, guys and girls, four english, three americans, one ozzy (our guide), a trinidadian and a canadian. Most nights we eat together and have a few drinks which is great as it means we get to try more things, some of the group are continuing travelling in Thailand so we may have some travelling partners longer than we thought which is nice.

All in all the trip is turning out great, we have done so much already. As you can imagine we aren't visiting Chendu because of the earth quake so will be spending a week in Laos instead - can't wait. We leave for Jinghong tomorrow, then onto Mengla and should get to Laos by Wednesday.
