Edit Blog Post
Well here goes! This is my first entry.
Disclaimer: some of you may receive this e-mail twice. I can't for the life of me firgure out how to manage the e-mail list and it is not for any lack of trying! Anyhow, I'm off this evening taking the train from Vancouver to Seattle. For those of you (I'm assuming most) who have never taken the train, it is only $25USD and leaves everyday from Main & Terminal at 6pm. It takes 4 hours and 5 minutes. Depending on the border and Seattle/Vancouver traffic, I would suggest this is a bargain and perhaps a time saver. I may have a different opinion once I arrive in Seattle! Enjoy the weekend and I look forward to being touch! Jason.
PS... you will need to set your e-mail account to be able to receive e-mail from webmaster@travelblog.org to prevent it from being sent to 'junk' mail. If you do not want to receive these updates, let me know and I'll try to remove you.
PPS... check out the route map function. This site uses Google Earth and while the data once I get east of the UK isn't there, it's quite interesting.
You will need to use the zooming function on the left of the map as it is zoomed into some random spot in eastern China at the moment!
PPPS... there is an option to send me a comment or two... feel free to use it!

Seattle train
Neat start to the trip...not many people know this, but in the old days (the 50's) more people would take the train than drive if they had to get to Seattle from Vancouver... My grandfather told me this...he took this train a lot. He actually survived a derailment near White Rock on one train coming back from Seattle once, too.
