We made it finally! We are in Newcastle and it only took about 24 hours to get here with our flight arrangements that were made. But, we are here and loving it. So far, we have visited the ruins of the famous castle here in Newcastle and walked down along the Tyne River. We've also just been setting up our flat and unpacking. Kaitlyn got to experience her first "night" life here in Newcastle as well. It's very liberating when the college kids come out.

Mark was trying to get a good picture of us but somehow the flash decided to reflect off of the rock and not us... so we turned out to look like ghosts.

The view was pretty incredible. However, we were the only ones up there and had to take the photo ourselves, so the view is absent from the photo. :(

Enjoy the Northeast...
I was just surfing a came across your blog...great job! We just moved back to St. Louis after living in Newcastle for a few years. It's a great place, but can be a little tough settling in. There's hidden gems everywhere. Let me know if you ever want any suggestions or advice....happy to help. We lived in Jesmond. Enjoy your time there, we miss it, especially the Geordies. We made great friends.
