After exploring Magnetic Island, I made my way to Mission Beach. It was quite a pointless stop for me since most people just stop there to white-water raft or skydive and since I have already ticked those two activities off my list, I didn't have much to do. It also rained those those two days, so there was nothing to do in the tiny little town.

I was happy to get to Cairns (which is smaller than I thought, but still big enough) and happy to see some sun! From there I enjoyed my 2 day trip to Cape Tribulation. It is known as the place where the rainforest meets the reef since they are only seperated by about 50 metres of sand. I did a couple of treks through the rainforest and walks along the beach; mostly in the rain, but what do you expect when you're in the rainforest!?!

I was a bit upset when I went to check in for my Great Barrier Reef trip at 7:30 in the morning only to find out it was cancelled due to low numbers. Luckily I had a spare day before leaving Cairns, so I booked onto the trip for the next day. It worked out alright as the weather was better the 2nd day, but I was only allowed to do one dive since there has to be a certain amount of time between diving and flying. So I just enjoyed snorkelling for the rest of the day. My SCUBA dive went well. It took a few minutes to get used to the breathing underwater, but after that it was pretty easy. The coral was beautiful, the sea cucumbers were slimy and I even spotted Nemo chillin' in his anemone! Maybe I can do a dive in Thailand.

Next was flying back to Sydney for the 4th and final time. It was actually cheaper to fly Cairns to Sydney and then Sydney to Bangkok than flying directly from Cairns to Bangkok. It probably didn't end up being much cheaper since I went and saw the musical "Edward Scissorhands" at the Sydney Opera House last night. It was excellent. It was quite a luxury night for me as I enjoyed a musical and a single room all to myself! Oh, it was so great!

Now I am heading off to Bangkok in a few hours and saying goodbye to Australia for good. It's been great fun and full of adventure! I sure I hope they enjoyed taking my money as much as I enjoyed spending it. I'm sure looking forward to my time in Thailand and I am starting my countdown for my return home (only 30 more days!) I can't wait to see Mateo!...oh, and everyone else😊

Bye Australia!
