We arrived into Japan on the 21st of May and took the bullet train staight for the ancient capital, Kyoto. On our first day of temple hopping I was very excited to see so many Geisha walking around, at first when you see their beautiful kimonos and pail faces you feel like they are almost alien to this fast moving motropolise, however, you quickly learn that in Kyoto they are a large part of the landscape and they are actually very sweet and approchable. They giggle alot!

On our second day in Kyoto we headed for a fantastic monkey reserve where after a fairly steep mountain walk you are surrounded by friendly Japanese monkeys. We were able to feed them and even got very close to a mother and baby which was born only three days earlier!

One aspect that I am enjoying in Japan is the super toilets they have here, a BIG change form the toilets in China. I went into a shop to find out how much the super dooper loo cost, to see if it would ever be possible to purchase one but I was so surprised to find out they cost over three grand. A girl can dream 😊

We also took a day trip to Hiroshima to visit the site where the A-Bomb was dropped and to read all the stories in the peace park and museum. I personally found this a tough day as so many souls perished and many are still suffering from that horrific attack. This visit along with the constant trips to different temples has really given me an opportunity to concentrate on my personal beliefs. One thing that I have taken away from this part of the trip is that eveyone on this planet should be as one, and in order for us to live in peace and ensure that an attrosity Like Hiroshima never happens again is to respect everyone and everything we have in this world. Amen!

On a lighter note we have also visited Osaka and are currently in Tokyo. Both are large cities and apart from the dazzling neon billboards and entertainly dressed teenagers bidding for the most attention, shopping is the main attraction. Only Problem is everyone is tiny!

Its our last evening in Japan so we went out for dinner; we went to a traditional Japanese resturant where you sit around the chiefs cooking and they serve you personally using an ore of a boat! Alot of unique food is served and Ivan tried smoked whale.

Overall, Japan is a good visit, the people are more friendly here than anywhere I have ever been. I think you can see most of whats on offer within a week. Heading to Bangkok, in the morning cant wait!
