Well her I am in sunny Vienna! It is Thursday 15th May now so I am on my last evening here. Unable to add any photos from this computer but hey it's free!!
Arrived from Luton on my second Easyjet experience and I must say both flights were great. No customs frisking at Luton (they like me!). All seated on the plane when the Captain announces, "don't worry if you see some mechanics working on the plane, a tyre popped on landing and they are just replacing it!" Did we really need to hear that?! Apart from that, an awesome flight.
Braved the bus to the nearest train station, but could not brave the train ...chickened out and got a taxi to the hotel. Is a lovely hotel..up to my standard 😊
Extremely hot here every day...makes walking a tiring business but I'm not complaining! Have mastered the underground train service now but have not had reason to catch a tram anywhere. Have taken lots of photos though.
Wednesday I took a tour for the morning (yes Amy, I did it!!), was nice but confirmed my belief that you are just ferried around as quickly as possible with only a few mins to take photos and contemplate the meaning of life or the place you are visiting. The tour took us to a village, an old house where someone famous killed himself and his mistress and an underground seegrotto where we walked for 40 mins in 8degC and hopped in a boat for about 5 mins. All very meaningful!!
Therefore, I did not take a tour today...went freelance. However, my first effort was stymied (sp?) by a rather rude German-speaking lady who pointed out that the visa machine was not working and that meant that I could not visit the place! Huh, said I...never mind I walked around the huge gardens of Schonbrunn Palace and I was very happy with that anyway. Busloads of Asians in the palace anyway.
Tonight I went out for a wander in the evening thinking it would be less crowded...not so! just as or even more busy than the day time. How I love NZ 😊
Have to go now as someone else is waiting to use the computer....chow for now. More from Salzburg ...hope I work out the intercity trains ok eeeek!

I believe there are famous hornbeam hedges at Schonbrunn - maybe you didn't notice!!!!! How blue is the Danube?
