Today's adventure started on a public bus to Bilbao from the campground, about one hour.
It is a lot less stress not to be driving an RV into the narrow streets of a busy city.
After a stop at the tourist info, we were off to the Guggenheim Bilbao Museum. This very modern structure houses a grand collection
of Modern and contemporary art. The special show is... Art in the USA 300 years of innovation. We have traveled this far to track US art?
Go figure.
We tried to get a SIM card so our phone would work here in Spain, but they required a passport? France and Belgium did not, just a driver's license.
So maybe tomorrow.
Today we had a delightful lunch at Lasa's Restaurant. We went with the "menu of the day" and enjoyed everything in a lovely outdoor cafe. The menu of the day is the way to go.
We continued our walk to the old city of Bilbao, but it is now 2/3 pm and everything is closed. We got used to France closing from 12:30 to 2:30,
but Spain has a longer siesta, I guess.
We stopped at
a bookstore and found a neat camping book for Europe/Spain. Finding a camp area each day can be a challenge. Every time we refine the process, we change countries and start all over again. Such is the fun of life on the road. We obtained info from each country as we were planning this trip, but it was not sufficient. We now have GPS coordinates to plug in... so hopefully the process will be simpler. Actually we are doing great, but the "Roundabouts" are "Killers".
