April 21/22
Today was a rainy day and it took seven hours of driving. The day was on and off rain, we enjoyed a book on the iPod as we drove.
The Bel Air is a lovely campground and the owner is making great renovations. The thing we enjoyed was having WIFI! It gave us the opportunity to catch up on emails and blogs. Sometimes it is difficult to find internet connection.
Our toll on the main highway today was 39.50 E$ that is about 58 US$. One other thing... the fuel... just don't complain about the price of gas in the US. Here we are paying about 1.50 E$ per liter, times four liters per gallon that is about 6 E$ per gallon... but then convert that to US$ and it is $9 per gallon!!!! Since it was a quiet day let me tell you about the US$ verse the E$. The US$ reached it lowest last week, At the town market I spotted roasted chickens for 15E$ that is 22.50 US$ for a rotisserie chicken! I complain when Giant Eagle wants $5/6. However the locals tell us it is a major problem for them everything
goes up and up except wages! As we planned for this trip we saw our economy taking a nose dive, and made the choice to go ahead, but we thought you folks at home might be interested in the comparison. .

Thank you
Have enjoyed photos and prose. Noted the cost of things in Mont St Michel story and began to retool travel thinking. Perhaps it's better to find a flat some place and wander about the villiage (town) to see things on a smaller scale? A large city would take a lifetime! Will you see the Carcasonne?
