What a raunchy morning!!

Ok after a train an overnight stay then a bus followed by a jeep we made it to Khajuraho let me tell you it's a very remote place indeed.

However it was very much worth it as this place really amazing the temples here are out of this world the best we've seen by far. we didn't mind paying the foreign tourist price this time (Indian 20 rupees / Foreigner 250 rupees).

The temples are famous for their erotic carvings (karma sutra is detailed with the carvings around the temples) and some images are quite explicit. To give you an idea perhaps a horse really was shown to be man's best friend and the word orgy quite often comes to mind !! they are very well preserved because they were forgotten about for hundreds of years and only re-discovered back in 1838 when a British officer was guided there.

The other purpose for coming out this far was for Panna national park but as they have had no rain for 3 years we were told the wildlife is hard to come by.

We took a ride through an old village (in 48oC heat) and got a real slice of Indian village life.

Nic - We're managing to learn a bit of Hindi now, so that's really helping us out, especially when we get mobbed by shop keepers or stall owners wanting us to buy things!!

Next stop is Sanchi home of India's oldest buddhist structures.
