Chicago Day 2 Baseball

Another busy day ! This morning we were taken by our gps lady to US Cellular Field, home of the Chicago White Sox. We parked the car, picked up our tickets for tonights game and then went to the train station. With the help of a very nice station attendant we bought our $2.00 train ticket and took a ride into downtown Chicago. We took the loop train, which was great, it took us right through the streets above the roads..... just like you see on the movies ... we were so impressed, we did the whole loop and came around again ! After getting off, we walked along the Chicago river and down Michigan Ave (The Magnificent Mile). We got in a bit of shopping and then headed down to Lake Shore Drive and walked up along the beach. Today we walked 18,000 steps.... so we got in a bit of walking time ! Back to the subway and on the train back to the baseball..... very exciting ! A great experience. The game started at 7.11pm and didn't finish until after 11pm..... Chicago White Sox versus New York Yankees. Yankees won 9 to 5. We made sure we did all the right things.... had hotdogs, cracker jacks, beer and soda ! The lovely lady that now lives on our dash, bought us home to the hotel..... Boy has she saved us on petrol and time ! Chicago is a very clean and friendly city, we have had a great time.

Hi So the baseball sounded like fun. 18,000 steps is alot, good on you's! Glad the GPS is helping! Are you glad you got the one who talks to you and tells you the streets? Hosted indoor cricket today, went well. off to hip hop dancing tonight. Should be fun!!!

Did you by chance meet Al Capone at the game? Nearer home: Henry seems to be slowly improving. Margaret is hoping to get him to a rehab place soon. God Bless, Bob.
