Paris

Monday April 14. It was time to finish shopping for food supplies in Amiens and drive toward Paris.
On our way to Paris, Kel was driving, and we both noticed the traffic increasing.
She had long ago driven around the Arc de Triomphe and did not want to repeat this
experience. There it was dead ahead, the Arc de Triomphe, no way! She found a
spot to double park and Bob began driving. It was here that "Matilda" , the GPS, had a "hissy-fit".
Eventually we found our way to Les Camping D'ile de France,15 minutes from Paris. It is a well
organized, clean campground with over 450 sites, right on the Seine River, with a bus
to the Metro. We choose to take the public bus to the Metro and walked along the
Champs Elysees to the Arc de Triomphe. We took the steps to the top, 284 in all, and viewed the
12 avenues intersecting this impressive structure. We gained a familiar rhythm for the bus and Metro.
So we are ready for a full day tomorrow.
