Arriving in NZ

Nicky: Hello!!We have arrived in NZ and it is absolutely beautiful!! It is alot like England, with rolling green hills and lots of sheep and every now and again we turn a corner and hit an amazing sea view! We spent our first few days in Auckland, which is a great city. We killed several hours in the museum which is really good, lots of Maori people wandering around in traditional dress. We also ate NZ mussels (which we bought fresh from the supermarket) and which were delicious, if a little scary to cook. I kept expecting one of us to get a bad stomach!!!

We picked up our second van on Wednesday and it is brilliant!! Not as pretty as our Oz one but I love having a toilet and shower on board, you dont realise how inconvienent it is having to go out in the dark when you want a wee until you have to do it for 30 odd nights!!So far we have found some great camping spots as well, next to a lake and the sea, hopefully this will continue!
We are making our way up the north island at the moment and are currently in Bay of Islands.

Hello all. So far so good for NZ!! Auckland's a great little city with lots of cute restaurants and shops and a real British feel to it, although I think that may be because it's rained all of the time we have been here. We're on our way up the north east coast at the moment and the scenery is breath taking - the weather has improved as well so we have lots of sun. We've had two nights in our new van and both have been overlooking the sea - we've been waking up in the morning and opening the huge back doors and just lying there taking in the view.
