Rio De Janeiro
Day 1 and 2
Flights all good and on time which was nice. Arrived in Rio on Monday morning and went straight to hostel….there was a problem with our room so we got moved to an apartment right by the Copacabana. We thought this was great until we went for a trot around in the eve and found very few spots to eat and the bars that were nearby were packed with hookers. We realized this after we looked around in the first bar we went in and saw about 20 women and 2 american guys having a great time. It rained down the whole of Tuesday which we were well chuffed about so we sat in and prayed for a sunny day.

Day 3

Hanggliding!!!!!!!

Finally it stopped raining so we went off to go on a trip to the favela only to be told at the hostel that we could go and do the hanggliding if we wanted to. So we headed up to Pedro Bonita, the cliff you jump off, and were given all the necessary instructions to have a safe glide. Then Baldy went first and just hoyed herself of the end of the cliff with her instructor Carlos. I followed and found her laughing at my landing when we got down to the beach. Had a cheeky beer and looked at the photos then headed back to the apartment. In the evening we went up to Lapa and had some drinks and a pizza (for a change) and then hoped for a sunny day tomoro.

Day 4

Gloroius morning so got some food from the supermarket and ate it on the Copacabana beach. Then went up to the hostel for our favela tour. There was a group of 6 of us who got whizzed up to the top of the favela on the back of a motorbike and then hiked back down to the bottom. Was really good, great insight into their lives and they didn´t seem to mind the tourists wandering around. Apparently the kids there dream about being football players or drug dealers. Ace.
