Yesterday, Sharon & I road Nang's Motorbike out of Nong Khai, following the Mekong SE through some small villages. Everyone was smiling, waving & shouting out to us as we road by. We also got the usual Songkran soaking as we rode around. Whilst stopping for a drink, an old man approached us & started to chat. He explained that he was a Captain in the Laos Army during the Vietnam War.
After a long chat, he told us that most of the villagers were 3 KM away on the beach, so we decided to go & have a look. There was about 300-400 people all dancing, bathing in the river, or eating at one of the many stalls. We were the only foreigners there, & when they saw us the compare announced it over the Tannoy, & we were beckoned up to dance. It was great fun, but a little overwhelming for Sharon. Everyone wanted to touch her hair & face! When we left, another announcement was made to tell everyone we were going.

Hi Tiger & Tigeress, Where there's a party eh! Good to see the both of you sunning it up (hi sharon) and enjoying yourselves. The pictures don't portray just how hot and humid it is out there....your narration is great so don't go thinking of showing sweat and all that!! :) Take care, Steve
