Oh my goshness there is sooooooooo much to say and so little time to write it, but i'll do my best!!hehe

So yesterday I began the day by going to this area called Arab Street. Everything is really different from the UK in this area and the architecture is so intricate and interesting!! Unfortunately I am unable to upload any piccis atm, but as soon as I can i will - I PROMISE!!
I went to see a place called Sultan Mosque, however was too early and so had to have an explore elsewhere until it opened! I walked all over the area (which isn't that big), walked in the heritage centre's gardens which were really pretty and well kept.

I also went to Little India which is a really lovely little area of Singapore. Everyone is so smiley!! I went to this massive superstore called Mustafa Centre. This place was AMAZING. There is literally everything you could EVER need in the world here...from food to clothes to electrical goods! I however only bought a notebook, some glue and crisps!!hehe...I think i'm going to have to go back and get a souvenir there too though! Next I walked down to a place called Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple in Littel India....and yet again it was closed! I think i'm jinxed or something!!hehe However it was to open later so I decided to make my way back to Sultan Mosque and then go back afterwards.

The Sultan Mosque was beautiful. There's really nothing else to say...hopefully the pictures I took will speak for themselves! I had to take my shoes off and wear this green robe/overall thing inside however as I had my knees and shoulders uncovered - SCANDALOUS! I felt very welcome there though, they are so receptive and kind to tourists!hehe...it's funny calling myself that! A nice Czech Slovakian man took my picature so you can all have a nice laugh at that when I can get it on here!

After the Mosque I took a walk down to a place called Bugis Junction which is basically a modern mall. Had most of the brands you'd find in the UK actually...make-up and clothewise. There was a TopShop, Dorothy Perkins etc... They did also have some Asian brands which was nice too...added a bit of culture to the store!! It was also air conditioned which I LOVED as it is so humid here...and kind of air conditioning is a Godsend!! I then went to Raffles which is a famous hotel here in Singapore...they have an area of rather designer shops and expensive bars, but it was interesting to see and made for some nice pictures :D

By this time it was time for me to take a walk back up to the Temple....This Temple was soooooooo beutifully decorated inside, as well as having an wonderfully carved facade as well!!! Again I have lotts and lotts of piccis that will hopefully speak for themselves...I actually feel rather mean dangling these photos in front of your eyes but not putting them up for you to see!!hehe...Oh well...all in good time my friends! :P I spoke to a nice lady inside...even though I didn't really understand her...I've kind of learnt just to smile and nod! They seem to love white people, and are just as interested in us as we are in them!

After the Temple I was rather tired from all of the walking I had done and so I went to catch the bus back to the hostel (so cheap btw - $1.10 for a 25 min journey (which is like 45p or something in the UK!!)

Back at the hostel I went on this organised tour with a group of other people staying here. I LOVED THIS SOOOOOOOO MUCH!!! It's called the Food Walk and I htoroughly recommend coming and staying at the Betelbox Backpacker Hotel if you ever come to Singapore!! Tony (the owner of the Hostel) took a group of us out in the Joo Chiat area (where I am staying) to have a taster of lotts of local dishes...some were really nice, other's were not!!hehe Tony knows sooo much about Singapore as well, so he gave us a guided tour of the area and told us a lot about the history of Singapore too! This was really interesting and I know so much more now...too much to write on here though, so if you are interested i'll have to tell you when I get back!!hehe We got to go to an Asian supermarket too and have a look at the ingredients that we had just eaten...some of these were rather gross but hey...I didn't know at the time!!hehe Did you know they sell some of their fish still alive...people can actually take them home and kill and prepare them themselves!!! They also had live forgs there!! ewwww We also got to go to an Eurasian museum at 11pm due to the fact that Tony knows the security guard! this made us feel quite specail and it was right opposite the President of Singapore's house. Which I must say was porbably smaller that my house back home, and only had 1 security guard at this little gatehouse outside!! We could even see the President through the study window which was crazy!! We wern't allowed to take any pictures however, as apparently we would have been arrested! Was rather cool though! We ended the night by going to a local bar...I had a lime martini (which was nice to begin with, but wasn't by the end!) When this closed at 1am Tony was going to take us to a local shopping centre with a number of small bars for an 'alternative cultural experience' basically this is where the illegal prostitutes opporate! However they had just had a police raid (for which I found I was rather disappointed!haha) so we just went back to the hostel!! Here we played some pool, before I finally went to bed at about 3.30am!!

I've met some really nice people...a girl called Louise who's just set out form the UK and is the same age as me too! We're going to Sentosa Island today funfunfun :D Also a couple of German lads, some Aussie guys, an Welsh guy called Rhodri! Love it!!! They're all super nice and I'm having such an AMAZING time here...seriously if you ever get the chance...COME!!

Anyways...i'm running out of time so I must dash...just off to Sentosa....Love you all squillions
