Well we´re back in La Paz for a couple of days (since thursday - we leave tomorrow if everthing works with our flight)

So with a couple of days to fill we decided to do what every other tourist in La Paz does and that is mountain bike down the most dangersous road in the world. This is the old main road to Coroico. Gravel, no guard rails and 400m vertical cliffs make up this trip. We were a bit nervous as Tiare couldn´t remember when she last rode a bike and Nick realised that for him it had been over four years!!!

the first 20kms is on asphalt and it was very cold, lots of cloud and mist (we started at 4700m altitude) after that the next 40kms is the death road with the drop offs and real hairy bits. But what a ride! Where else can you ride down hill for 5hrs!!! we slowy gained confidence and by the end were experiencing more joy than fear. It really was a great trip and the whole group made it down in one piece. We are very glad we did it - it was an experience to remember.

Sorry no photots for this entry - we were too busy trying not to ride off a cliff. But we did buy the photos taken by the guides so we´ll show them too you when we get home.

Well if all goes according to plan (the plan still has a few holes in it) we should be in bonito in Brizil tomorrow night - which will mark the start of our last two weeks in South America.

We´ll catch up again when we can.
