Morning survey from the front door (this time, in full Primavera)
Today we leave Florence. I'm sad! This city is everything they say and more - one of the most picturesque places on the planet. This part of the Tuscan region is special, so bella Italiana, it really impresses. As we are packing up our belongings to load the little VW Golf and drive away from Casa Limone, the most gorgeous spring day bursts forth. After all the early spring weather (including snow!) we've experienced since being here, it was as if the estate was begging us to return with the promise of budding trees and shrubs and sunshine. The landscape issued forth with a clarity and freshness that was saved for the last day.

Grazia showed up to do the final tally on our bill (you can't count the empty wine bottles until the final morning!) and we summoned her for a final "fotografia". This entry is mostly photos, the lasting impressions of our time at the estate and in and around Florence. Bella Firenze! Bella Casa Limone! We'll miss you.

Same wisteria vine... this greenhouse was built around part of the specimen, and what is inside is in full bloom. What is outside is still dormant. Amazing!
