Copacabana, Bolivia

Copacabana was pretty unexciting for me. I spent the night on a bus to get here so I could sit on the shore of Lake Titicaca, which I did for a few hours. With not much else to do, I hopped on a bus to La Paz (buses are super cheap here in Bolivia, a 3.5 hour ride for $2).

The best part of Copacabana was leaving. The road to La Paz must cross this small portion of the lake, so our bus went on this small ferry (barely large enough to hold it) while most of the passengers crossed in a motor boat.

on the way to Copacabana, we had to change buses (from the large comfortable one to the small collectivo). We then spent about an hour waiting until the border crossing between Peru and Bolivia opened.

a flat tire
The passengers wait while the driver changes a flat en route to La Paz. This must happen often as the locals just hopped off the bus and waited on the grass until we were ready to go again (surprisingly only about 10 minutes later).
