It is now time for a new adventure. This time I have decided to raise money for Willen Hospice in Milton Keynes.
The plan is to ride 2,500km through the Western Ghats of India, starting in Goa, and ridding through Karnataca, Kerala and Tamal Nardu. We will be steering clear of main roads and using local trails as far as possible and hope to find some unusual off the beaten track places.
If you enjoy my blog, please make a donation at: http://www.justgiving.com/Shaun-Toms
The trip is funded by myself so all proceeds will go to Willen Hospice.... full info
Unfortunately when I got there (100kms away) disaster struck twice!Firstly I was pulled over by the Police for not wearing a helmet. After paying a bribe of 200 Baht, I was allowed to continiue. Then my throttle cable snapped. I headed back, pulling the cable by hand, & about 10 miles later I found a small motorcycle repair shack at the side of the road. The husband & wife team had it fixed in less than an hour for the princley sum of £3.00.
So I carried on back home.
Almost back home, I saw what looked like a concert being set up.On further investigation, it turned out to be the end of school year celebrations at the local junior school. I was beconed in & fed & given a place of honour in the front row, next to the stage. Here you can see the head master in the green shirt.
