A very cute fishing village near Buckie, North Scotland

Edinburgh and Buckie, Scotland

We are totally loving being in Edinburgh!! We arrived on Jane's birthday, and enjoyed a great day of festivities with Di and Rob, including a very tasty meal and an historic ghost tour in the evening which was very cool :o) Since then we've spent heaps of time cruising around the city and checking out some of its key sights. It is such a beautiful place :o) And Di and Rob are excellent tour guides.

A week after we arrived we tiki toured up north to Buckie, a small fishing town, and visited some of Rob's family. It was a really great chance to see a bit of Scottish countryside, as well as to experience small town Scotland. Sam really enjoyed the whisky, and consumed many half and halfs at the local pub (a half and half is a nip of whisky chased down with a half pint of beer). We also visited Craigellachie and did a whisky tasting - it turns out there is quite a lot to whisky, and a lot of different whiskys! There were over a hundred different whiskys to choose from at the tasting, including some that was really old selling for £180 a nip!! We both definitely have more of an appreciation for its goodness now...

Hmmm lots of good times... Maybe we should start knuckling down and get us a couple of jobs :o)
