25th Oct to 27th Oct 05

this page is dedicated to my friends n family who wants to know what's happening in my life in suzhou. The pix are all about me, moi and myself...*grin...have fun and u can email me ur corny remarks if any 😊

a pretty standard day for me is :

morning - work from my desk in Xing Hai School. Clearing school work and also nygh work..It's pretty neat that the school has broadband internet access where i can update the blog and also download emails from school. Managed to skype my colleagues and friends as well today 😊 minor achievement for a techie like me!

lunch - never had a fixed lunch break in nygh as we all eat at different times but here all the staff eat at around the same time and they eat the same food!!hmmm...uniformity?

afternoon - lesson observations, visitation of school officials, briefing of girls, etc

night - visitation of girls - we have 20 girls to visit...and guess what - most of them are hosted in penthouses..which means lots of climbing up to 6 storeys...*pant *pant..and they also practice energy saving ....actually activating
"Rong""Rong""Rong"

this is an interesting pix - beside me is the principal of Xing Hai school, who explained to me that the word "Rong" means the intertwining of the two countries - Singapore n Suzhou, China. The coin (a twisted version) is a symbol to represent this friendship.
them is quite interesting..u just need to step real hard n it's activated by your footsteps...however some of the designs are such that the doorbells are next to the switches..so u might get a problem ringing the neighbour when what u want to do is switch on the staircase lights...ha ha...

have not been able to have much free time at all so far but thank God that the girls are all healthy and happy..which is more than i can ask for 😊

Would prob get to do some fun stuff tomorrow as thankfully in china they are on a 5D work week !!

all in a day's work

oops! what i meant is - all in a night's work..house visits to families that host our girls - part n parcel of what i do at night...it's quite fun but tiring..imagine climbing up 6 flights of steps and looking for the aprts...many of them stay in the penthouse...but to me - it's great exercise and also a real good chance to get a glimpse of life in a suzhou family !!
