Greetings from the other side of the world!
It's amazing but somehow I feel that I've been gone months as opposed to weeks. It already feels like so much time to myself, when I'm not part of a daily routine that include the usual emails, phone chats and socializing, and of course a "job".
I'm again here in Sydney (Balmain) indulging in a relaxing stay with friends Rachael and Jason. For the usual tourist photos, you're welcome to visit the blogs posted when I was here 2 years ago:
Sydney,
Australian Hospitality,
A Whole Lot Of Nothing. I can assure you the Sydney Opera House and the kangaroos are still here and look exactly the same, so I'm not finding the need to record such things. However, my camera is filled with photos of someone who wasn't here 2 years ago, my new boyfriend Harrison. He will soon get a blog of his own, so stay tuned.
I do want to share some visuals, so for this entry I've decided to open my journal and post a few pages, share my view of the beauty that exists here (everywhere)...beauty in quiet moments, and in the small details that are so easily overlooked when
Patterns
Some of the patterns from around the house: the rug in the living room, the bedspread in my room, Rachael's tea cup, homemade quilt from Jason's mom, pillow patterns...and I am addicted to Tim Tams. I get caught up in "work". My journal comes with me practically everywhere, and I love recording and truly appreciating life's simplicities. It is also a reminder that it's not wasting time spending an afternoon sleeping on the grass, staring at clouds, listening to Harrison's laughter, or my favorite, sitting in silence. So yup, that's pretty much what I'm doing. Like before, here I give myself permission to do anything I feel like, which usually means "nothing".
Temperature in Sydney today: 74 degrees and sunny
