Weekend

So this weekend I didn't do much. I surfed Friday afternoon It was rough and good sized. It was ok. Still warm. The weather has been pretty crappy lately. Rainy and coldish. Saturday I didn't do much at all. It was raining and cold. So I we just hung out ate chocolate covered strawberries and watched a movie. My left eye got all red and puffy. I either have an allergic reaction or pink eye. It was just dripping hard core. Today though its a little better. Still very pink. Today was pretty lazy too. We went shopping and got a bunch of fruit for next week. The mangoes here are amazing. We eat them with a little lime juice squeezed on. Its heavenly. I tried Vegemite this weekend and must say that its not as bad as I remember. Its a creamy salty taste. Interesting, it goes from nasty to good to nasty to good in your mouth so I wasn't able to decide if I liked it or not. I also tried nutella this weekend. Its a chocolate spread you put on stuff. Very addicting. Sunday I made a rhubarb custard pie. It was very good but I'm the only one who actually likes it. Marti and I went up to the lighthouse again today. It wasn't raining though and I didn't see any leeches. i was bummed because I wanted to take a picture of them. Also today I saw a kookaburra, Its a sorta king fisher that makes monkey sounding calls. It was on the clothesline and I walked right up to it. I even pet its tail feathers. It was an awesome looking bird. I was surprised how tame it was. I guess it had no reason to fear humans. Well I just finished some homework and now its time for bed.



My eye is better now. 12/2/08 (they do the date weird here. It goes day/month/year. It's quite confusing I thought it was December today)

Sounds like your enjoying your new home....gosh to think there are people who don't just love rhubarb pie!!! I'll be right over. The pictures are great..the bird is really cool and to think you could pet it...thats awsome too. If you have pink eye you will need midication for it.. expect your mom will clue you in as what to do. If you send me a street address I can send you grade money!!! Wow that kukaburra is a really cool looking bird, I cant believe you got to touch it... I wonder if it is a pet...like our Jack bird was... I am glad he was a nice bird... that beak looks like it could take a serious nip. How is your eye? Let me know ok, I am worrying about it. mom

Hi Chet, It is fun to read of your trip and see your photos. We are a wee bit sick of snow and ice here and are heading to Hawaii next week. Hope to see your folks soon. Keep having a great time down under.
