Ko Phi Phi
Anna walking on a rocky beach. Hey everyone!
After finding the paradise in Malaysia, i didn't have that high expectations about Thailand.. The first days in this country I spent missing Malaysia and wishing I was back there. Still I had a great time in Krabi, our first stop!! We spent one day making a daytrip to an island called Ko Phi Phi. We had heard from many people that this island is perfect and the most beautiful island here in South east Asia. And in a way I agree. Ko Phi Phi had beautiful beaches and I've never seen as clear water as what we saw there. But still I just could not really like the island and the problem was that the place was filled with tourists. Where was the real Thailand and the real people?
The second day in Krabi we went to a snorkeling tour and thats the best thing I've done here in Thailand! We went with a slow boat to four different islands and really enjoyed the beautiful weather and the perfect beaches. The only bad side with the trip (or mayby not bad, but at least weird) was our tourguide. The whole day he spent showing only me
Ko Phi Phi
Hiding from the sun and Anna around, taking us to the best snorkelingplaces and buying us coffee. We really appreciated it and had a great time with him. The problem with him was that he in the end of the day suddenly started to explain to me how much he loves me, that he wants to marry me and have children with me.. Come on!! I've heard about love at the first sight but proposing after only one day is just more than I can take! Anyway, I hope I didn't break the poor guys heart and I'm shore he will find someone else to fall in love with pretty soon.
Bangkok was our next stop. I don't really want to waste anyones time trying to find something to say about the place, exept for the fact that I hated it! It wasn't only the citys fault that I didn't like it because to be honest, I didn't even try.. But the again I had a bad flue at the time and the dust in the air in Bangkok made me feel I couldn't breath! The good thing with Bangkok is that we met Charlie from Camerun at whos place we couchsurfed. We

One of the four islands. where there in the middle of the week, so we only saw him in the evenings. Our second and last night in Bangkok he took us to and interesting tour to Bangkoks nightlife and we saw things I don't want to write down and shock you guys with! Lets just say it was an interesting experience and I don't want to do it again..
After busy Bangkok we spent two nights in Autthaya, a small city 1,5 hours north from Bangkok. The city was full with old temple ruins which we went to see with bicycles we rented (the worst bikes I've ever seen by the way). There wasn't much more to do so we spent a lot of time in our guesthouse. We met a nice guy from New Zealand, Mr New Zealand is what we called but his name was Cullum, and we are planning on crashing his place when we go to Wellington.
From Autthaya we took a nighttrain to Chiang Mai, a city in North Thailand. We had great plans of doing a lot of things up there but both Anna and I got sick. We did go to a cooking class and we
learned to do some really tasty thai dishes. I enjoied the class and I hope we get a chance to do other cooking classes aswell, mayby in Vietnam. You are all welcome to try my new cookingskills when I'm back in Finland! The coolest thing in Chiang Mai was the Sunday walkingstreet, a night market where we went crazy with all the nice things you could buy there. It was the first time we did any real shopping and my parents can expect to get a nice package from me in a couple of weeks (or months). We bump into Mr New Zealand again in Chiang Mai and had a crazy night out (party, party!!). The last day we rented a scooter and went to see this beautiful temple on the top of a small mountain. The temples name was impossible to remember, but it was worth seeing.
All in all Thailand was a nice place. I feel like we spent a bit too much time doing nothing and wasting time, but on the other hand, we just weren't fit for that much action. But there was something about Thailand I just didn't like. A brittish guy we met in

Me and Charlie Autthaya said about Thai people, especially in tourist places, that "If they can speak english you have to ask yourself why they have bothered to learn the language in the first place". That puts in a nutshell the feeling I had about Thailand. Enjoy the beautiful country, but don't trust anyone! And if you cant put your trust in something, how can you like it?
I'll be back in Thailand in a month when Hanna and Miro is joining us for a week. I'll give the country a new chance then and mayby it will end up beeing as amazing as Malaysia, who knows?! Next time you hear from me will be from Laos! Take care and see you!

Sorry for you...
"Enjoy the beautiful country, but don't trust anyone!" You missed out on one of the best parts of Thailand...the very cool and interesting people...but unfortunately you would not meet them as a mainstream "tourist" taking boat trips and cooking classes. Sorry for you...
