This is the life, eh?
It's not every day you get to wake up to beautiful big blue skies and feel like life is really looking good but ever since we arrived back in Auckland, that's exactly what it's been like. In fact, if it weren't for the slightly major issue of not having work permits, we might actually feel like nothing could ever get us down again.

The good news is that things have been moving forward for us in the last few days. Glynn had an interview for a warehouse job although he's yet to hear back about it - keep your fingers crossed. I 've applied for what sounds like a dream job and the guy at the agency reckoned I might be the strongest candidate he's ever had. I guess we're going to need you to cross your toes too! Obviously I'll keep you posted with any progress.

Another big stroke of luck came our way in the form of some much needed furniture. Glynn and I were down in the pool in the basement of our apartment complex when I decided I needed to pop back up to our apartment for something. As I reached the lifts, a couple

of ladies stepped out along with a hoarde of furniture. I cheekily asked if they might be throwing it all out to which they replied yes and would I like to have any of it! Out of the lift came a couple of bedside cabinets, a glass table, a lamp, pedal bin and a few odds and ends that looked beyond salvage. My eyes were nearly popping out of my head and I couldn't help but ask whether there might also be a sofa hidden away somewhere and they only bloody did! Off I trundled all dripping wet in my swimsuit and sarong to inspect a modern looking black bed settee that the ladies had already hefted onto the back of their Ute. I ran back and excitedly ushered Glynn out of the pool and within an hour we had an almost completely furnished apartment at long last! Hooray!

Throughout the week, we've just been getting out and about making the most of the beautiful weather. Temperature-wise it's been in the high 20s (centigrade) although it feels much hotter owing to the strength of the sun's rays around these parts. We spent a leisurely afternoon one day simply lying

Who could ever get bored of these amazing Auckland sunsets?
in the tranquil Albert Park gardens right in the heart of the city reading one of the many library books we've borrowed. I could get used to this kind of lifestyle!

So, what have you been up to lately?
