Hey everyone! I arrived in Sydney today after 17 hours of flying. I flew from San Francisco to L.A. to Tahiti, to Sydney, only to discover that the had left my bags somewhere along the way. God I HATE airports! So here I am at the Santangelos with one pair of shorts, one pair of boxers, my rashguard, and no surfboards.
I went surfing twice today. Once at Palm Beach and then again at Avalon Beach. It was fun beach break, nothing special. But the water was ridiculously warm. 75 degrees!!!! I cant believe it. I went from winter rainstorms, 48 degree water, and wearing a full wetsuit with a hood and booties to a tropical land with warm water and no wetsuit necessary whatsoever. I cant believe how warm it is here. Definitely way warmer than it ever gets at home during summer. It is a not quite tropical but I'd say it's pretty close. It's strange, the sky seems bluer, the vegetation more green, and the ocean seems saltier. It may just seem this way because I've spent the last 24 hrs in airports or on an airplane.
I tried on my school uniform today! It's navy blue pants with a white button-up shirt. It's very different compared to what I'm used to. I bet you would all laugh to see me in it. I promise to post some pictures of me in it soon. I start school in 3 days! It's a full on Christian school. It will definitely be a new experience for me. I hear that it can get kind of intense with all the religious teachings.
Well I'm extremely tired so I'm going to go to bed. Goodnight and I promise to write more soon.
