He's a big pussy cat!
Kanchanaburi is the location of the famous Bridge over the River Kwai, but my purpose for visiting here is to visit the Tiger temple.
After Bangkok, this place seems almost rural. The people are more laid back, and the pace of life slows down.
On arrival I meet a couple, Andy & Helen & we agreed to meet up for dinner so that they could give me some advice on where to go when I arrive in Chiang Mai later in the week. Unfortunately, Andy became ill with a stomach bug, so I gave him some of the medication that I bought along. Apparantly it worked as they left me a note at the reception of my guest house. (A & H, make sure that you keep in touch).
This was my first chance to hire a motorbike, albeit a 100cc step through Honda, but this has proved to be more than adequate when there are so many things to take in on route.
The further North I travelled, the more rural it became, & after getting lost for about an hour, I arrived at the temple. Awsome! Take a look at the pictures & you will See what I mean.

Noisey, hot & uncomfortable but an unforgetable journey through the Thai Countryside.
I will post more later & maybe a video.

Tigers
Hi there, Your pictures of the tigers are amazing. Ive been reading up on this place a lot and really want to go but have read a lot of bad reviews about the place ie the tigers are badly treated, they are locked in cages most of the day etc. Just wondering did you see any evidence of this at all as would hate to go for it to be a horrible experience!!Thnks!!

Tiger Temple
Hi Ruth, It's good to hear from you. I hope that the Temple lives up to your expectations. I am sure that it will. I don't know how long that you intend to travel for, but I am now doing volunteer work with an organisation called Openmind Projects. You can see their website at www.openmindprojects.org . It has added a new dimension to my travels & I would highly recomend them. Good luck Shaun
