OK, so I'm going to be leaving quite soon to fly out to LA, have a short visit with my aunt, and then fly out to Brisbane... eep! It's really exciting, but slightly nerve-wracking to realize that I'm not going to see my family again for close to half a year, and that everything I need for that time (and the subsequent time at FHL) needs to be packed in two suitcases. I effectively won't be home until August, right before school starts-that's a long time away from home! I think I have done a pretty good job packing, though, and have packed lightly. I'm packed, mostly, except for a few odds and ends here and there (namely, I need to remember my toothbrush, power converters, and my computer...).
Mom has me slightly nervous, saying that Monday (the day I'm flying out to LA) is supposed to be foggy. Hopefully not too foggy-I need to catch that plane out! I've certainly been delayed in airports before, but I'd rather not if I don't have to. It is nice to know, however, that even if this flight is delayed from MSN, my flight from LAX to BNE is not on the same day, so I have some wiggle room in terms of time. Being delayed is not nice, but I won't have to worry about catching an international flight immediately on the other end!
