Hi all,
Right here is our first official blog..............
Where do we start, only 1 week gone and so much to tell you. Lets start with tomorrow, We are going to live with the Iban tribe in the heart of the Borneo rainforest for 3 days eeeekkkk. Thats why we thought we best email you tonight incase we get eaten. Anyway we will let you know how that goes next time (hopefully).
Our first stop was the 'clinical' singapore, it was nice and clean but very expensive, we did manage to find our first meal for a few pounds in a street restaurant, it tasted just like our local chinese, harry's. On the saturday night we decided to go to china town for a walk round and some nice food, although we didn't realise it was the start of the chinese new year celebrations and it was rammed, packed like sardines through little streets so we didn't really see much. What we did see was nice though.
Would you believe it, the first person we spoke to whilst having a beer on the hotel veranda was a guy who now lives in spain and organises fishing trips on
Sarawak
Tasty Won Ton Soup by the Sarawak River the river ebro, Dan was in his elimant. After speaking with him further he only turned out to originally be from borrowash on victoria avenue!!!!!!!! You can't get away from the place if you try. ha ha.
We then decided to 'pop over' to Borneo and are so glad we did ITS AWESOME, so beautiful. We have started in Sarawak at the capital called Kuching. We have been here for 4 days now, the people are so friendly, its like being back in time with little street markets and bazaars. Its so cheap, its embarassing, we keep thinking we have worked it out wrong. Our hostel is only 2 quid a night including breakfast, cheap i hear you say, you aren't staying here its like a prison. Its a bed and its clean.
Stayed at a Bako national park for a night, it was like living in twycross zoo, the views were breathtaking and we have never seen so much wildlife in its natural environment. Our finds included, deadly pit vipers, terantuala, flying lemars, 3 types of monkeys, the long nose proboscis looked just like virgil (look it up! ha ha), Mud skippers (no comment base) and lots of
Trekking in Bako
Lost in the Rainforest at the Bako National Park Sarawak other beasties. We have 150 pictures already so you won't get bored (honest).
The only problem so far is it's a Muslim country which means its virtually DRY, (no alcohol). However you know us we sniffed a few bars out and they are extortionate. 1 pound a beer. To put this into perspective though the meals only cost around 50p!
Just off to pack now for our tribal gathering, hope you are all ok, keep in touch. Untill next time ..........................................................

Glad to here you are still alive
Hello to you both. It was good to here from you. We were a little concerned that you had been eaten or taken hostage!!! It sounds like your having fun. Just be carefull no one takes advantage of you as it does happen in Asia. If you have time I would recommend you going to Kota Kinabalu, the capital of Sabah, alot of people go from here to look around the city but also to climb the mountain. You should be able to fly from Kuching to Kota Kinabalu fairly cheaply. Would also recommend going diving at Sipadan Island. It would be a good place to take your diving lessons. The diving is one of the best in asia, it on our list to go to (just make sure it is the season) You will be able to get from Kota Kinabalu to Sipadan fairly easy. We are okay, just lots of wedding planning which is very boring but has to be done. We are poping over to Bangkok next week to sort out the wedding paperwork and do a bit of shopping so that should be fun. Thats all from me. Keep in touch. Let me know if you need any travel suggestions. Luv, Andy XXXX
